Rent a Private Pool for the Day With Airbnb for Pools

I love swimming, but I hate public swimming pools. I’m not at all opposed to the concept of sharing a pool with people, or rather doing it when you suddenly find yourself in the middle of an energetic game played by a group of young children, or just too close to be comfortable. that old gentleman in the speedometer. I guess I’m just not a fan of crowded public pools. I love my space.

This weekend I stumbled upon a way to make this private pool dream come true on my writing budget: Swimply . This is a kind of Airbnb for swimming pools, the service allows you to rent someone else’s pool for the afternoon.

Unfortunately for me, the San Francisco service doesn’t have pools (do people have pools in San Francisco?), But there are tons of them elsewhere. For example, searching for a pool in Los Angeles next Friday yielded several options for $ 50 an hour .

One pool will allow me to swim for up to eight people and offers a jacuzzi. The other had a diving board along with a jacuzzi and I let me bring 15 friends with me for this booking.

When you’re looking for a private sailing trip for one, $ 50 an hour is pretty cool. If you have a family of four or more or a group of friends, then this price starts to approach the price you would pay to get into this public pool (or less), except probably much better.
