How to Watch “Shark Week Without Cable”
It’s shark week! This year actually marks 30 years of Shark Week (was that so long ago ?!), so Discovery has a pretty solid lineup of shark content ready to go . Today’s lineup, for example, kicks off with Guy Fieri’s Feeding Frenzy at 7pm, followed by the Laws of Jaw’s at 8pm and Air Jaws the Hunted at 9pm.
Can you honestly say that this is not the composition that you need in your life? Right. There’s just one catch: you need a Discovery Channel to track all of this activity … or access to streaming the Discovery Channel.
Discovery is one of the hardest stations to go beyond traditional cable, but you have several options on how to do it:
Discovery Online Channel
The Discovery Channel offers all the content of its Shark Week online. To access it, you’ll need a cable entry for the person who has the Discovery Channel as part of their current package. If you have a buddy that fits that description, now is the time to buy him the lunch you promised and see if you can get their information.
PlayStation Vue and DirecTV now
Both PlayStation Vue and DirecTV Now offer Discovery. On PlayStation, it’s part of the $ 44.99 / month Core offering. On DirecTV, this is part of the Live A Little Package for $ 35 a month . Both offer free trials, so if you haven’t tried any of the services before you can get a free trial that will help you for a week.
And if all else fails, Discovery also offers a small portion of its Shark Week content (though by no means the entire epic lineup) for free on its website. You can check your options here .
