Create a Personal Instagram Account for Your Kids’ Artwork
This is the solution I come across every day. When my 5-year-old daughter shows me her latest work of art, can I: a) talk to her about it and then sneak it into the trash can, or b) talk to her about it, hang it on the wall or fridge, leave it there forgotten for a couple of years, and then stealthily throw it into the trash can? The mental burden is real.
There are many nifty apps out there that will digitally archive your kids’ work, but many charge storage fees, and then if you later want to create a book or other physical memento, you’re stuck using that particular service. I would like to save my daughter’s creations (recent gems: dyed macaroni playground and rainbow without green because it’s a special kind of rainbow) without any commitment.
One solution I like: create an Instagram account for this.
You probably already use Instagram, so there is no need to download another program or app, and if you want to make a book or gift later, there is a wide selection of Instagram connected options like Chatbooks , Blurb , Artifact Uprising , Pinhole Press and Shutterfly . You can make your account private or not. (Who knows – maybe your young artist will open as the next mini Mone t?)
Now excuse me while I go to the trash can to dig up some masterpieces.
