How to Use Venmo As a Payment Option With Uber
Uber has announced a new update that will allow the user to add Venmo as a payment method when using Uber and Uber Eats. The feature is reported to be available in the coming weeks, although no official launch date has been announced.
The partnership will also allow you to share trips and food orders with a friend through Venmo as a payment method at no additional cost.
Here’s how to use Venmo as your primary payment method:
- Sign in to your Uber app.
- Select Venmo as your payment method in the payments section of your Uber profile, and you will be automatically redirected to the Venmo app.
- The payment will then be made from your Venmo balance, linked bank account or debit card.
With this update, you don’t have to manually switch from the Uber app to Venmo. Uber will automatically redirect you to the Venmo app for a slightly smoother experience. The toll splitting method that has been used since the beginning will still be available for those without Venmo, but you will be charged $ 0.25 per transaction.
The update will be available to all Uber US users in the coming weeks.
