Remove Tangled Corn Silk With the Gripper Pad
If you are cooking corn in its husks, which you should be doing, peeling it shouldn’t be too difficult as it will slide off all at once. But if you need to reach these juicy kernels while they are still raw – for example, to pickle them or sprinkle them on a salad – removing small strands of silk can be a little frustrating.
However, there is a very easy way to get small blonde strands – you just need a grip pad. If you’re not sure what I mean by “grip pad,” I mean those rubber round things designed to help women open cans, but a grippy shelf liner will do. Just take a clean piece of any of these and gently stroke the cob (corn) with it to remove even the most stubborn silk. Continue to follow your banal plan, getting rid of the stray strands.
