How to Listen to Audio Files You Receive Via Text Message on Your IPhone
iOS: You know it’s easy? Send an audio file to a friend via text message on iPhone. Do you know what’s not easy? Listening to this audio file via iPhone text message. Well, there is a better way.
As a podcast producer , I get sent a lot of audio files as text. This is all well and good, except when you click to listen to this audio file, you have to keep the Messages app open on your phone; if your screen goes to sleep (which it usually does) it pauses the file. So good luck putting your phone in your pocket and listening to a friend podcast or a sick indie folk punk song they just wrote to you – before you can listen to it all the way, your phone will likely lock up and the track will stop. … Then you will have to unlock your phone and hit the play button again. Above. I. Nad. Again.
But there is a simple solution. Just quickly save the audio file in the Notes app and you can listen to it in full whether your phone is in sleep mode or not.
Tap the file
Share a file
Add to notes
Save the file
Open the note and listen
Enjoy this podcast, folk punk song, or any other fun stuff your friends might want to listen to and review!
