Get Live Political News in the 2018 Midterm Election Section of Apple News
The Apple News app, a carefully curated news feed available on your iPhone and iPad, has a brand new addition for political junkies (or anyone who just wants to quickly learn about the madness of the day).
Apple today released a new news section that allows you to keep a closer eye on the November 2018 midterm elections. Whether you like it or not, you can find out more quickly about politics by opening News and clicking on the large “Midterm Elections” banner at the top. Presumably this banner will last until November as there is no clear way to simply “follow” the midterm section of it (at least at the time of writing).
According to Apple, the company will publish (human-selected) articles from The Washington Post, Axios, Politico, Fox News, Vox and other publishers. The new section also features a selection of “Conversation” opinion columns that are sure to spark your passion on the various “hot issues” Apple describes . And The Washington Post’s Elections Now panel gives you a little more information on the statistics of various political races.
According to Apple, the section on the 2018 midterm elections will run until November. Just think, just five months or so of continuous coverage before we can move on to months of continuous analysis and predictions for the 2020 election. Sigh.
