How to Quickly Identify and Remove IPhone Apps You No Longer Use
Selling is pretty easy when it comes to trying out new apps. I download almost any app from the App Store that someone has convinced it can be used and I will test it. However, after this test drive is over, I don’t know how to waste time uninstalling apps that don’t quite fit. Result? My phone is pretty busy.
If you have an iPhone, finding these unused apps and uninstalling them is pretty easy. I used to do this regularly and this week I was reminded of this feature thanks to a post on MacRumor s .
To access apps on your phone, go to Settings and select General and then iPhone Storage. When you do, your device will display a list of all the apps you currently have installed on your device, with the largest ones listed first.
If you scroll down, you’ll see the “Last Used” date under each app, which tells you when you last opened it. If several months have passed, it might be time to part with it.
If you click on an application in the list, you will be presented with two options: Unload Application and Remove Application. If you choose Unload, it will uninstall the app from your device, but retain the data that you associated with it. That way, if you decide to download it again later, you can continue where you left off. If you choose to delete, all application data will be sent along with it.
If your device is constantly running low on space, I also recommend that you enable the Offload Unused Apps feature on the iPhone Storage page. With this, your phone itself will offload applications that you don’t use, so you don’t need to.
