Let Ben Folds Teach You How to Dance in Garageband 10.3

Mac: GarageBand, Apple’s free virtual music studio, recently updated its Mac version to include free lessons from your favorite singers, songwriters, and rock musicians. With these Artist Lessons, as Apple calls them, you can learn a new instrument from some of the best in the world, including piano legend Ben Folds, true legend John Legend and other popular bands like Death Cab for Cutie.

Learn songs from the people who wrote them – for free

Released in 2009, Artist Lessons gives aspiring musicians the opportunity to improve their songs by dividing instructional videos into three different parts: song practice, song playback, and the story behind the song (so you can be very emotional, etc.) ).

Art classes used to cost $ 5 and were geographically limited, but Apple’s GarageBand update expands Artists’ classes to over 150 countries and, most importantly, brings the price down to free. As long as you have an instrument or the world’s best ear, you can learn how to turn on the red light directly from Sting himself. This is not a private lesson, but it is something.

Apple offers even more loops, sounds and instruments

According to Apple, its new update to GarageBand also features 1,000 new auio loops for you to play around with if you’d rather create your own jams than use someone else’s. These include:

  • Two new drummers with brush styles influenced by Roots and Jazz
  • 1000 new electronic and urban loops covering the genres of reggaeton, future bass and chill rap.
  • 400 new samples of animal, machine and voice voices. (We hope thesystem is not working .)

You can also beat drums all day – Guzheng, Koto or Taiko – and give your songs a classic vibe with five vintage Mellotron patches. Start by downloading Garage Band for Mac if you don’t already have it, or head over to the App Store and download the latest update.
