How to Make a Lighter and Safer Burpee
Hello friends, how is the burpee problem progressing ? Today I have a few modifications that would be perfect if the burpees disagree with you or if you are doing well but want to tie a friend who has some doubts.
We’ve already discussed how you can skip push-ups (this isn’t cheating, it’s just another exercise), but here are a few more modifications. You’ll find people doing this in gyms and living rooms all over the country, but I love that Jen Sinclair has put them all together in a video explaining why they help and how to do it.
- Spread your legs further apart to facilitate the initial back squat.
- Return to plank position instead of jumping backward. This will help prevent the lower back from sagging.
- Do box or bench push-ups to lighten your body – for example, if you want to include a push-up but don’t have the upper body strength to do a full push-up. for each burpee
You can mix and match these options to create a burpee that’s right for you.
