How to Get Google Rainbow Sheets to Celebrate Pride

We love it when a company steals an Easter egg into some sort of mundane program, especially when the nose knock trick does something wild and fantastic. And while Google’s latest hidden feature in Sheets isn’t as hard as, say, playingFlight Simulator in Excel or running Game of Life in Google Docs (or typing in Konami’s code ), it’s still very fun and based on that. Pride of the month.

To test this, just open a new spreadsheet in Google Sheets. In cell A1, enter the letter “p” – case does not matter. Scroll right one cell (B1) and enter the letter “r”. You’ve probably guessed where this is all heading. Basically, you will write pride one letter at a time in the cell from cells A1 to E1. And as soon as you touch the last “e” and press Enter (or Return), your entire spreadsheet will turn into a giant rainbow corresponding to the six colors most commonly associated with Pride.

Unfortunately, this is not a permanent painting. As soon as you remove any letter from the “proud” word you created, the rainbow will disappear. However, if you simply hide the “a” line, you can preserve the color scheme while you create a new spreadsheet full of information. And if you need to add columns behind the “Z” where the Sheets end by default, they will also have a rainbow theme applied.
