Tell Us Your Travel Tips for Honolulu
I was once in Honolulu. The city was great, but I couldn’t rent a car, and one day I tried to go around the entire island of Oahu by bus. I missed the connection and ended up spending the day sitting at an unshaded bus stop in the suburbs. So when you give Honolulu travel tips for this Hack Your City week, please don’t forget my stupid tanned ass.
Every Monday onHack Your City, we ask readers for the best tips about the city: driving tips, restaurant tips, entertainment, and any other tips for visitors and locals alike. Then, on Thursday, we present the best comments. We work in the USA and around the world.
In this column, we always want to know three things:
What is underestimated? Which places deserve a few more discerning visitors? And what tricks can turn a normal ride into a great one?
How should a visitor approach the city? What position should they take? What local traditions, behavior, and laws should they be aware of? What should they know about the past and present of this place? How can they keep the peace with the locals?
How does it feel in the long run? What advice can you give to other residents? How do you get to work, what is the place for lunch every day? Where will you go if you want to get out of town for a day or a weekend?
This is the only Hack Your City we’ve ever hosted in Hawaii, so we’ll take your advice anywhere in the state. While you’re at it, what’s the best way to get from island to island?
Leave your tips below and come back Thursday for a new post with the very best.
