Stream MLB Game for Free Every Week on Facebook
If you want to stream one of your favorite MLB team’s away games later this season, you might have to head over to Facebook.
Facebook has signed up to receive exclusive streaming rights to 25 MLB games this season, mostly daytime games on weekdays (read: games you want to watch at your desk at work anyway).
The next game in the series is this Thursday between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:05 pm (first streamed earlier this month). MLB is hiding a little which games will be available, but plans to announce them throughout the season, but all games are streamed directly to the league’s Facebook page .
In addition to streaming the match live, it also offers on-demand highlights packages for every regular season game, as well as weekly coverage packages for all 30 MLB teams.
So, even if you don’t watch the Giants or Yankees game live on Facebook for a week, you can still catch up on the weekends on Facebook.
The deal represents an increase over what MLB was offering on the platform last year. Last year, Facebook offered 20 live games over the course of the season, but they were streamed concurrently with the participating team’s local TV coverage. This year’s games, which will run mainly on Wednesday afternoons, are available via Facebook Watch exclusively on MLB’s Facebook page.
