Why I Like This Mobile Operator for Seniors [updated]

All stock photos on the Consumer Cellular website show the elderly. The buttons are huge. There are special offers for AARP members. I am 33 years old and I love this phone company.

Consumer Cellular sells reasonably priced phone plans with very simple cut-off thresholds. For $ 45 a month plus taxes, I get 5 GB of data, unlimited text messages, and 250 minutes of calls. (You can play with the plans here.) Of course, this is after buying my phone directly from Apple. But CC also offers phone payment plans.

What’s even more impressive is how easy it is for me to handle this plan. Three simple graphs show how many minutes and data I have used and will probably be using by the end of the month. It looks like I’m not going to use my 5GB, so I’m downgrading it to 3GB. (Every page on the site is so clean and elegant.)

If I ever upgrade, Consumer Cellular will just take me to the next level at no extra cost. (It would be nice if they automatically knocked me off my feet , but the reach must exceed someone’s grip, otherwise why heaven.)

5GB is enough if you’re streaming music, but if you’re streaming movies on a mobile phone, check your data usage before switching. If you are using more than 10 GB per month, this is not for you, digital millennial.

Combining CC in existing networks of telecom operators; After switching from AT&T, I have not noticed any changes in the service. But I live in New York. If you live in a rural area and are already happy with your coverage, you may not want to risk losing it.

Otherwise, CC seems like the perfect option for the phone company. Even the customer service was friendly and helpful, once I needed it. If this sounds better than your ISP, I suggest switching. Come live with me in the mobile phone retirement community.
