How to Get Android P Screenshot Editing Tool on Any Android Phone
Last year Apple introduced advanced screenshot editing tools to the iPhone with iOS 11 , and this week Google released a similar Android feature called Markup. The only catch is that this new tool is limited to Android P , due out later this year, but probably won’t hit most older Android devices. Luckily, there is already a (unofficial) way to add markup to your current smartphone.
This workaround was developed by XDA forums user Quinny899 who copied Google’s markup tool and released it as an app for older versions of Android. You can download the software right now and download it to your phone with a little effort. Just remember that you are installing unverified third-party software on your device, so it may contain some bugs. You should probably also back up your smartphone first, in case something goes wrong.
After that, the first thing you need to do is allow Unknown Sources on your phone by going to Settings, selecting Security and enabling the option. Then download the tool to your device from this link . After downloading, a notification should appear. Click on it and select “Install” to complete the process.
To actually use the new feature, all you have to do is take a screenshot. Then pull down the notification panel and tap Share next to the picture. You should see an option to share it with markup. Select it and you can resize the image or draw it entirely. Once you’re done, just click the checkmark in the top right corner to confirm your changes.
