What Should We Bake Next?
Hello everyone, and welcome back to Will It Casserole , a column where we see what dishes, dishes and cuisines can be reimagined and turned into casseroles.
The layered delight inspired by last week’s burrito finally found its day in the sun and it was great, but now we need to move on to a new hot dish. During the last discussion, you all had some good ideas, and these were some of my favorites:
- Food Court Casserole: I had the double courage to make a dish inspired by Sbarro, Panda Express, Charlie’s Cheese Stakes, Cinnabon, Corn Dogs, Soft Pretzels, and Caramel Popcorn. This seems overwhelming, but I think I could do five or so of these works in a coherent way.
- Cheese Steak Casserole: I just need someone in Philadelphia to tell me which cheese to use because I want to use Provolone and Cheese Wiz.
- Korean Shepherd Pie: Based on galbi-jim , it will include braised short ribs, carrots, shittake mushrooms, onions, chestnuts, and marmalade, and a fluffy potato puree on top.
- Cheese platter casserole: This will basically be a large amount of brie with a little pecans, some honey, and maybe a few baked pears with apples.
- IKEA casserole: This will be meatballs, mashed potatoes and whatever I can find in their grocery market.
As always, feel free to come up with your own brilliant ideas, no matter how crazy you think they are. Last week some of you mentioned hot dogs, but it would be great if you could elaborate on that.
