How to Write?

No one likes a chatty Katie, especially when the conversation is on the phone, demanding your attention with bright flashing colors and ringing alerts. On the other hand, you may not be a fan of a large wall of text and prefer to receive your messages one thought at a time. You will have to answer anyway, and if you are like the two types of text messages described in Girls Ask Guys , you will piss someone off. So how do you do it?

You can always respond with a stream of consciousness, passing message after message to an unsuspecting recipient to reflect the rhythm and tone of a personal conversation. Of course, you run the risk that the recipient will think that their standard smartphone now has a new constant vibration feature, or that Apple News alerts keep on continuing .

You can also form complete sentences and fully formed thoughts like an adult with a basic understanding of linguistics. In my opinion, like eating with your mouth closed, it should be considered a de facto method of communication.

I’m sure you send a text message from time to time that gives the impression that the chicken sandwich you ate while on vacation abroad was so good that it required a step-by-step description, a dozen messages about the bun you ate. and a few jokes about a nice waiter just in case. But the flood of notifications demanding attention – instead of a short three-sentence description – can be incredibly annoying for the recipient and perhaps even destructive if, say, he is in the middle of an important meeting or in a quiet movie. …

On the other hand, a huge block of text can seem overly formal and a little overwhelming if you’re used to the more conversational style of texting.

So tell us: which will you choose? Are you a more … prolific text editor who prefers to send text to every thought in your endless conversations with friends? Or are you taking the time to formulate sentences and master your thoughts enough to send something coherent and as subtle as possible? Do you change your style depending on who is on the other end of your three points? Let us know in the comments.
