Do Not Throw Crumbs Into the Bottom of the Chip Bag
If we have learned anything from LadyDoritoGate , it is that women hate tossing chips crumbs in their mouths wide open. But perhaps it has nothing to do with maintaining the appearance; maybe these savvy women will save the crumbs for smart and tasty use.
This is part of the Lifehacker Eating Trash With Claire series in which Claire Lower convinces you to turn your kitchen waste into something edible and tasty.
I can’t speak for all women, but I don’t know I have ever thrown delicious crunchy crumbs out of a bag of chips. Why do I need this if I can use them in one of the following applications?
- Bake them into cookies: Plain potato chips cooked in a kettle are best for this, the saltier the better. Add them carefully to the dough and bake as usual.
- Fold them up in a Spanish tortilla: While the original recipe uses whole chips, I don’t understand why your broken pieces won’t work.
- Use them instead of bread crumbs: anything that can be sprinkled with bread crumbs can be sprinkled with chunks. Nacho Cheese Chicken Dorito is not bad; Simply dust the meat with flour, dip in a beaten egg and sprinkle with any flavor of chopped chips.
- Sprinkle them with salad or a bowl of soup; they will add flavor and crunch to any of them and do not require preparation as they are already crushed.
- Top with a saucepan or pasta and cheese with ’em: Every casserole needs a crispy topping; add yours within the last five minutes of cooking so they don’t burn.
- Put them in a sandwich: Do this, especially if you are eating a tuna sandwich or chicken salad. These sandwiches often lack varied texture, and the chips provide just that.
It is also known that I pour the leftover bag of chips into sour cream, then open a new bag and use the fresh chips to eat the “sauce.” It’s like smoking all the time, but with chips.
