How Are You Doing With the February Financial Detox?

At the beginning of the month, we recommended that you try financial detox for a month from something seemingly small that you buy that adds up.

It turns out that many of you have spending habits that you would like to improve. WampasaurusRex requires Lyft to work; lisagirllost cuts down on trips to the nail salon and food at work (popular); and SupergirlKP tries to cut down on cost overruns when she’s not with her hockey team. DarthSarah takes a few steps forward, aiming for detoxification throughout the year, inspired by the book A Year Less .

Mine was to give up Seamless, which I stuck to despite strong temptation around February 2nd. What I didn’t do was cook more and better – I mostly gave up scrambled eggs and pasta (healthy!). But I have two weeks to develop this habit.

How are you doing? Any tips or tricks you’ve come up with over the past two weeks to avoid temptation? Let us know.
