Use a Tumble Dryer to Prevent Plastic Containers From Moving in the Dishwasher

I eat a lot of Thai curry takeaway. Each tasty dish comes in a plastic soup container, and even though I already have 20 of them, I always decide that this is something I need to keep in case I need to use it to store some unidentified subject in the future.

Washing ultra-light containers that are completely not designed to be used more than once can be difficult. I am terrible at washing my hands, but the gusts of water from our dishwasher often make thin containers fly to the point of not being washed, and I still have to wash them by hand.

It’s not just a takeout problem. Washing lighter plastic containers, regardless of their quality, can be very challenging. One Reddit posters, thecatunderthebed , offers the perfect solution: put them on the metal grating dish.

After loading the plastic containers into the dishwasher, place the dryer on top of them to weigh the whole thing like a cage.

The rack is heavy enough to hold the plastic containers in place, so everything can be washed without rolling around in the dishwasher.
