If your tree has low hanging branches, it can be difficult to know if you need to pour water into the tree. Reddit user SolidDoctor has a simple solution to the problem: put a ping pong ball in a water tank.
When you see the ball, it floats, so you know your tree has enough water. If you can’t see the ball, then you need to water it. Add water until you see the ball again and your tree is not drinking.
