The holiday season means you are likely to send or receive multiple packages whose thin ( or flamboyant ) content might require a little more love and attention during transit than regular UPS shipping. If you want your box to arrive safely, they suggest you add a little more flair in the form of (real or fake) baby drawings, cute stickers, and handwritten messages. According to right_ho, “if it’s marked fragile and has chalk ‘I love you granny’ written all over it with cute stickers all over it, I’m less likely to put it on the bottom under heavy boxes to get crushed.”
Of course, you can (and should) exercise due diligence and protect your fragile item by packaging it correctly, in addition to being clearly labeled with stickers, graphics, or the occasional mention of “Glass” on the outside.
