Happy Hour With 3 Ingredients: Black Friday

Congratulations on Black Friday my kids, and welcome back to Happy 3 Ingredient Hour , a weekly drinks column featuring very simple yet delicious libations. By now, you’ve already experienced a Thanksgiving dinner, and for that you deserve a drink.

I don’t usually get involved in the capitalist hell landscape that is (offline) shopping on Black Friday, as it involves getting up early and the crowd that I hate. Just thinking about it makes me crave the caffeine and booze you’ll find in today’s proposal.

This drink, which I call Black Friday, is a game based on coffee corretto , an Italian beverage made of espresso and a small amount of spirits such as grappa, sambuca or, as we speak here, Fernet Branca. … I’m not a big fan of warm cocktails, so I swapped out the espresso for a cold one – more caffeine anyway – and added some simple syrup to calm Fernet’s invigorating nature.

To make this invigorating yet very cool drink, you will need:

  • 30 grams of cold coffee
  • 1 oz Fernet Branca
  • 2 teaspoons of plain syrup

Mix everything together in a shaker with ice and shake until foamy and cool. Stretch the giant cube and sip until you feel like you want to tackle your unique Black Friday challenges, whether it’s an angry mob, relatives of relatives, or a mountain of leftover food.
