How to Get Beautiful Pixel 2 Live Wallpaper on Your Current Phone

We’ve already shown you how to get the new Pixel 2 camera app and calendar widget on older Android devices, but there’s another fresh feature from Google that you can bring to your current phone. The Pixel 2 also comes with some cool new live wallpaper options. Here’s how to get them without buying a new smartphone.

What are the new live wallpapers?

Live wallpapers are a lot of what they look like: a moving picture for your home or lock screen. New Google features for the Pixel 2 include bird’s-eye views of spectacular locations such as Monument Valley, Mount Vesuvius and the Lagos coastline, as well as images of the Earth, the Moon and other celestial bodies seen from space. There are also several abstract designs with titles like Glimmer and Gooey, as well as designs that show wind patterns wherever you go.

How to get them now

These new wallpapers are supposed to be exclusive to the Pixel 2, but Android developer Pranav Pandey has already figured out a way to run them on older devices effortlessly – provided you’re running Android 6.0 or higher.

Before you start, you need to install the official Google Wallpapers app if you haven’t already. It’s a pretty cool app with many different settings to customize your wallpaper using images taken from Google Earth, Google Plus and other sources.

Then you will need to download the Pandey port with the new live wallpaper. You can download the file from APKMirror . After installing it, just hold the home screen until the menu appears and select “Wallpaper”. At the bottom of the list you will find a new section called “Live Wallpapers”. Just select the one you want to use and you’re done.
