How to Set up Multiple Voice Profiles on Amazon Echo

I like to ask Alexa when my next appointment is or what my schedule is for the day. There is only one problem so far: my boyfriend cannot use the same feature because Amazon requires you to use the same calendar and email accounts. It’s great if you have a simple family calendar, but when you work for a family of two busy people, it just doesn’t work.

Now Amazon has (finally) added support for multiple people in the same household. It only takes a few minutes to set up, and it makes Alexa so much more useful for everyone in your home, not just one person.

To set things up, you and the person you want to add must be set up as family adults and linked to your Amazon account. If you are unsure how to do this, here are some instructions to get you started .

Once set up, you need to go to the Amazon app on your phone or to alexa.amazon.com in your browser. If you haven’t recently updated your app, now is the time to do so.

Click the hamburger button (these three lines are on top of each other) in the upper left corner of the page, and then select “Settings” from the drop-down menu. From the menu, you need to select “Accounts”, then “Your Voice” and then “Get Started”.

A drop-down menu will appear asking you to select the nearest Alexa speaker from the list, select it, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Basically, Alexa will make you say 10 different phrases to learn your voice. Alexa will then recognize you, so what you get from the device in the future will be personalized according to your preferences, not just the preferences of the person who originally purchased and set up the device.
