Major League Baseball Hot Dog Rankings
I didn’t need a poll to tell me that AT&T Park in San Francisco has the best hot dogs in Major League Baseball. Most likely, I would have made this statement while sitting in some less decent stadium and eating a poor quality dog, but I would not have the facts (other than my own detailed personal research) to support this statement. Only now I know.
ReviewTrackers recently analyzed 130,000 reviews of places in America like Facebook and compiled a list of not only places where you can find the best hot dog, but places where you can have the best beer selection, the best family and fan experience. and the best stadium overall.
Here are the high-level results:
1. Oriol Park in Camden Yards: # 1 most popular destination.
2. PNC Park: 2nd highest rated family stadium overall and highest rated by fans.
3. AT&T Park: 3rd overall, 2nd food and best hot dog.
4. Safeco Field: 4th overall.
5. Ewing M. Kaufman Stadium: 5th overall and 2nd for families.
The results were obtained using the company’s natural language algorithm to determine sentiment in all 130,000 reviews. Then each of those points was tied to a keyword. For example, “hot dog”.
ReviewTrackers has up-to-date ratings listed on their site . Since I know you want to see the data of this hot dog, below is a chat where:
The beer info is pretty interesting too. Since the introduction of craft beer, many stadiums have received far from positive reviews due to the small selection of beers they have.
Great American Ball Park has received top honors for its large selection of local beers.
They also used big data to determine what you should order when you walk into the stadium. The highest honor goes to the barbecue. This data shows that people talk about barbecue while playing four times more often than about hot dogs. Other popular dishes include popcorn, sausage and nacho.
This doesn’t mean you should rush into buying a BBQ sandwich for the next big game, but it does suggest that ditching traditional peanuts and cracker jacks is not a bad idea.
However, I did order a BBQ sandwich when I walked into AT&T park a few weeks ago and I absolutely had to eat this hot dog.
