How to Get New Emoji When IOS 11.1 Beta Launches Next Week
Apple only released iOS 11 last month, but for emoji fans, a really important update is still on the way. iOS 11.1 will add hundreds of new emojis , with a public beta release next week. Here’s what you need to know about the update and how to get it as soon as possible.
Finally there is a dumpling emoji
Apple is adding tons of new emojis to iOS 11.1, from new facial expressions to mythical creatures. You can send abusive emoticons or monocle emoticons to your friends. The update also adds a mermaid, fairy, vampire and wizard, as well as giraffe, porcupine, cricket, and dinosaur.
In terms of food, there are cake and dumpling emojis as well as Chinese takeaway boxes emojis which should be very helpful if you are trying to lazily plan dinner. There is a new American Sign Language I love you hand sign emoji, a breastfeeding emoji, and some gender neutral characters.
My personal favorite might be the curling stone, which will be great when the 2018 Winter Olympics kicks off next year.
How to get a new emoji next week
If you can’t wait to start firing your wizards and dumplings acquaintances, you can sign up for the public beta, which kicks off next week.
IMore has a step-by-step guide. The first thing you need to do is sign up for Apple’s software beta testing program, if you haven’t already. You should also back up your device via iTunes by connecting it to your Mac or PC, in case the new beta version crashes on your iPhone or iPad.
Once the iOS 11.1 public beta arrives, you’ll want to return to the Apple Beta website and navigate to the iOS tab. Select Download Profile and then Install. Then enter your password, agree to Apple’s Beta Agreement, and click Restart.
At this point, your device should reboot, and when it turns back on, it should start downloading the new beta version. However, you will still need to go to the Settings app. Click General and then Software Update. Then select the new beta, enter your password and install it. Your iPhone or iPad will restart again, and once it turns back on, you should be running the iOS 11.1 beta with all the new emojis that come with it.
