Be My Eyes App to Help the Blind Is Now on Android
Be My Eyes, an app that allows sighted people to remotely assist the blind with visual tasks, is now available on Android , two years later on iOS .
The app is free, anonymous and available 24/7. Anyone can join us as a volunteer or end user. There is no obligation to join, so for sighted people, this is a great way to make the world its best for a few minutes at a time. Its creators report more than 270 thousand assistance sessions, of which more than 500 thousand sighted help 38 thousand blind people.
One word of caution: Since anyone can join, blind users should avoid disclosing sensitive information such as credit card numbers to strangers.
