Shopkick Lets You Get Rewarded for Your Purchases Effortlessly
If you are going to spend money, you can earn rewards while you do it. I’ve never been a fan of scanning receipts or traveling shopping portals to score points, which is why Shopkick is one of my favorite reward apps.
Some “lean” habits just aren’t worth the time , and I’ve always thought incentive purchases fall within this maxim. Whether it’s an app or an online shopping portal, additional work is usually required.
Of course, credit card rewards are an exception: you simply swipe your finger across the screen and earn points. Shopkick works the same way. You link your credit cards to Shopkick, and every time you use one of the linked cards at one of their partner stores (TJ Maxx, eBay, Hotels.com, Apple, etc.), you earn points that you can later redeem for gift cards.
I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and rarely even look at it and don’t think about it. I forget about it for a few months and then open the app on some random day and find that I have 2500 points (or what they call Kicks), which is usually enough to get a 10 gift card somewhere. dollars. It’s not a lot, but it doesn’t require any effort either, so it’s a nice little surprise from time to time.
If you don’t mind the effort, you can also use the app to earn points by checking or scanning certain items . As far as security is concerned, once you link your credit card, they won’t save your information. According to the site:
When we created the Linked Card Program, we focused on security – Shopkick does not store or display your credit card information, so it cannot be lost or stolen. All information is securely stored directly in Visa or MasterCard and not in Shopkick. Protecting the safety and privacy of our customers is our number one priority …. You can unlink your credit card at any time with just one click. Your credit card will be automatically disabled if your account is inactive for an extended period of time.
