How to Force Close Just One Tab in Chrome
There are two types of people in this world: incredibly organized saints … and all of us, with our 27 tabs open in Chrome at any given time. Of course, keeping all these tabs open is a special kind of organization – I save this to read later, I need this to be open for reference – but when one of these pages stops responding and we need to force-close Chrome, the whole house cards are crumbling.
It’s important to know how to force quit a frozen program , but even better when it comes to Chrome is to close just one non-responding page, and Make Use Of has a trick of figuring out which tab is locked (and making sure it’s not just loading So slow). Then open Chrome’s Task Manager (from the Window menu at the top) to see all the processes – tabs and extensions – that are running in Chrome. Click the tab you want to kill and then click End Process.
And voila! Though, maybe next time if you give up the call to close your tabs , try something like the OneTab extension to help you better control your tabbing habit.
