How to Watch Emmy Without Cable
If you’re currently relying on your smartphone, laptop, or any monitor for TV time, you can still fix that on the red carpet by airing the 69th Annual Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 17th.
Starting at 8:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm PT, this year’s show will air live coast-to-coast on CBS, with comedian and host Stephen Colbert taking over as host of ceremonies.
To watch holiday events without a tube without relying on sketchy illegal broadcasts, you need to register for CBS All Access or download the “CBS Full Episodes and Live TV” app from your phone’s app store. (Note: Emmys change from network to network every year, so last year’s ABC streaming services won’t help you this year.)
The no-contract plan costs $ 5.99 a month, although right now CBS is offering a free one-week trial to get you through the Emmys. (You just need to remember to cancel the monthly auto-renewal before the trial ends if you’re not interested in keeping the service.)
CBS is not offering any red carpet pre-shows this year, so for a glimpse of all the styles and silly smiles, head to E! The live red carpet kicks off at 6pm ET on Channel E! On YouTube .
