Aerial Yoga Guide for Beginners
Regardless of whether you are familiar with yoga or not, the idea of doing yoga in the air can seem … strange. But don’t worry: “aerial yoga” does not mean that you are going to do a downward trapeze dog. Instead, you will be supported by a soft hammock, which will allow your body to let gravity do some of the work.
For our ongoing Day 1 series, demystifying the process of quickly starting a new hobby or activity, we asked Lakesha of Studio Anya (where they practice a version of aerial yoga called AntiGravity Fitness created by Christopher Harrison) for tips on what to expect from the class. Your first aerial yoga lesson. Tip # 1: Trust yourself (and your hammock) and remember to breathe.
