Microsoft Workspace App Provides Mac Users With Helpful Information
Microsoft’s Pilot Projects division has released a toolbar utility for Office 365 Mac users that lets you access OneDrive files, make video calls, and see your next appointments.
The new Workspace app sits in your Mac’s toolbar and offers shortcuts to the rest of the Office 365 apps. With one click, you can view your upcoming schedule (view up to five of your next appointments) and up to ten of your most recent documents. The app also lets you pin files so you can quickly access your frequently used ones. You can also participate in Skype calls during meetings.
Workspace is the first Mac app from Microsoft’s Garage division. The experimental product group has a history of producing some pretty interesting software, but its track record in supporting that software is unfortunate. My favorite app developed by Garage, the Word Flow Keyboard for iOS , was recently discontinued in July following its initial release in April 2016 (the page now encourages users to try Microsoft’s Swiftkey keyboard).
