Here’s Where (and How) to Watch an Apple Event Live on IPhone
Today is iPhone Day, so get your wallets ready! Apple is set to announce a trio of new iPhones, one of which, the high-end iPhone X, is rumored to retail for a cool $ 1,000 . There are also valid rumors about a new Apple Watch with LTE support. Of course, if you’re not attending the event being held at the new Steve Jobs Theater (part of the company’s new futuristic headquarters in Apple Park ), you can follow Apple’s news in a variety of ways.
Watch live stream from Apple
Apple is hosting its own live stream that kicks off at 1:00 PM ET (10:00 AM PT), so you can watch the entire event from the comfort of your screen. However, in order to tune in, you will need to follow a few rules.
Here’s what you’ll need, according to Apple:
Requirements : Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology is used for live streaming. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 9.0 or later, a Mac with Safari on macOS v10.11 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming to Apple TV requires an Apple TV (second or 3- 1st generation) with software 6.2 or later, or Apple TV (4th generation).
In short, you’ll need to use Apple TV or Safari on any Apple device, and Microsoft Edge on any Windows 10 computer. If you’re wondering why you need to use Edge instead of Safari on Windows, it’s because this version of Apple’s browser is the latest was once updated in 2012 and has since been discontinued. Sorry Chrome users, but Apple’s pettiness knows no bounds.
