How to Enable Twitter’s New Night Mode
Whether you’re sitting in a dark conference room or snuggling up in bed before bed, hacking into your laptop to watch Twitter can feel like staring straight into the sun. Sometimes a white background is good, sometimes something darker would be a welcome change.
After debuting its Android and iOS apps for the first time, Twitter finally started rolling out dark mode on the web this week, and I bet the person sitting next to me on my next red-eye flight is very happy with the development ( I know I was when I read this post on TechCrunch ).
To activate online mode, you simply click on your avatar in the upper right side of the page and then select “Night mode” at the bottom of the list that appears. When you’re ready to get things back to normal, you turn off the mode, doing literally the same thing.
Since this is more of a “rollout” than a launch, there is a chance that this feature may not be available to you yet. If you don’t see it, wait a day or two and try again.
The dark blue hue is actually a really enjoyable way to browse the site, and for me it makes it a lot easier to read. I have been using it for a while now and am not sure if I will ever return.
