Use Your IPhone’s Battery to See Where Your Time Is Going
We’ve all done it. We rush to the couch, phone in hand, deciding that we will only like a few photos of dogs in backpacks on Instagram and inspirational calligraphy works. Three hours later, you realize you haven’t done anything, but you feel a little sadder (by the way, you are fine with calligraphy). You can keep track of the time you spend on your computer quite easily thanks to the many time management apps, but there aren’t many for your iPhone, mostly for security reasons .
There are apps like Moment, of course, but if you don’t want to pay for an app that forces you to take screenshots every morning to tell you what you did the day before, your iPhone will tell you where the last few minutes (or days) have passed. if you know where to look.
According to The Next Web, instead of taking up space on your phone with an add-on app, you can find out where your precious minutes are being spent by visiting your iPhone’s battery section. When you hit Settings and tap the Battery section, scroll down to the Battery Usage section (give it a second or two to collect). The Battery Usage section shows how much battery power each app has consumed in the last 24 hours or in the last 7 days.
Here you can find out where you really spend your time by looking at your phone. Tapping on the clock icon next to the Last 7 Days button displays the amount of time the apps have spent on your phone screen. This will show the amount of time and power the apps have spent both on your screen – presumably while you’re looking at it – and in the background. For me, the Overcast podcast app recorded the longest time in the background – 29 hours. As far as the app I use the most, it’s like Twitter (ugh), with almost 4 hours of screen time in the last seven days.
In any case, you should check the Battery section, especially if you are running out of battery power. You can put your smartphone into “Low Power Mode” by stopping automatic downloads, stopping background refreshing, and reducing visuals. Also here you can toggle the numerical display of the battery percentage in the upper right corner of the screen. This detailed information may be enough to make you put Facebook off and close your eyes for a second or two.
