Color-Coded Cords and Ports to Avoid Confusion
I admit I get a little frustrated trying to remember which cord goes to which slot for all of my tech items.
The answer could be as simple (and inexpensive) as a brightly colored Sharpie, as seen in this Imgur post ( h / t Reddit ).
It’s so simple, it’s ridiculous. Match the color and design and paint each one on the plug-in component and next to the plug-in site. Lines, dots, hearts – everything that boggles the mind. If you have crazy drawing skills and have a little extra time, you might be able to create very tiny cartoons that work together.
If you’re looking for a less durable option than the Sharpie, try colored tape or even stickers like this. (Maybe red, blue and gold stars?)
And with the time we will all save, let’s give an extra round of applause to the father of the Imgur poster, who “needs help getting into his email,” but undoubtedly wins in the analog hacker category.
