Use the Dutch Expanse to Avoid Hitting Cyclists With the Door of Your Car
As a person living in a city full of cyclists, I live in constant fear of being hit by one of them in the car door. But nothing more, there is an easy way to make sure that this tragedy never falls on you or your friendly amateur cyclists.
This is called Dutch Expanse and all you have to do to complete it is to open the car door with the hand farthest from the door. This movement forces you to turn towards the street, allowing you to see if there are oncoming cyclists. It’s a quick trick that doesn’t take too much time and can literally save your life.
