Users Agree to Clean Wi-Fi Pots Under Stunt Terms of Service
To prove its point, Wi-Fi hotspot provider Purple put some nasty “public services” clauses in its subscription agreement , and 22,000 users accidentally agreed to do tasks such as cleaning up animal excrement and cleaning portable toilets in exchange for free Wi-Fi.
While Purple says it’s not actually being asked to honor the terms of the agreement, it’s a good reminder to review the terms of service when signing up for a service. For example, Unroll.me subscribers might have prevented the company from selling their Lyft Uber checks .
