Write to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and They Will Select Art That Suits Your Mood

For most people, a visit to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is not an ordinary trip. I have lived in San Francisco for 6 years and have only lived once. However, you can now see some of the art from the museum simply by texting the museum and asking. I saw more art from his collection this afternoon than in recent years.

SF MOMA currently houses 34,678 different works of art, but only about 5% of this collection can be viewed at any given time if you accidentally walk into the museum to check things out. Even if you get to the museum, seeing that 5% is quite a daunting task.MOMA advises that you need to walk approximately seven miles to walk past every piece of art currently on display. It’s a lot of walking. Also, you probably see a lot of things that you are not interested in so that you can find who you are.

Or you can just write to the museum.

A project called Send Me SFMOMA allows you to get an image of just about anything you want on demand, all you have to do is ask. “Anything” in this statement is a little crude. You can’t just write and ask to be shown a specific thing. However, you can write and ask for happiness, or the ocean, or the dog …

To give it a try, text 572-51 with the words “Send me” followed by what you want to see. I personally like to test the water with emojis, which sometimes work and sometimes fail. When there is a match, you will receive an image from this collection of 34,678 items. Presumably, you never get the same image twice, so you can slowly go through the entire collection without getting off the couch.
