Use Toilet Seat Covers to Blot Oily Skin
If you’re the type to use blotting paper to absorb sweat or grease from your face, you may have wondered which one is better. The most expensive are the best? Should you buy sheets that smell like flowers? Or should you ditch oil wipes altogether in favor of a handkerchief or a permanently dewy glow?
Celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker use toilet seat covers to get wet instead of spending money on fancy paper at Sephora. It’s a free alternative, but how do you compare?

I’m a convert! The air conditioner in my house went out and my oily skin began to overload. I remembered reading about it and thought, “What the hell!” Applying the matte side to my face, my oil was absorbed directly – my makeup stayed in place and I was in awe! I looked amazing again! (Relatively speaking) It took a whole lot of powder to get everything wet, but it saved me from using up all the powder in one day. Now I sometimes take a few pieces in the morning, cut them into large squares and store them in my purse / bag / desk / anywhere. This saves my dear blotting powder! Love it!!
Some negative reviews are for bathroom germs spreading to toilet seat covers, but people don’t actually touch toilet seat covers that they don’t use, and most of the covers are protected from germs by the container they are in. … Some reviewers recommend using a second or third cover just in case.
Other popular oil-soaking alternatives include Starbucks coffee filters and wipes . The Starbucks napkin works pretty well, while the coffee filter collects the most oil, but removes most of the makeup. However, the toilet seat lid absorbed most of the oil from my face, leaving my makeup intact. Plus, if you have them in your office bathroom, seat covers are much more affordable than Starbucks napkins.
