Flickr and Tumblr Users With Emails From AT&T Lose Access to Their Accounts

According to Techcrunch, Verizon’s social media platform Tumblr, along with an extensive list of other Yahoo services, is potentially blocking users from accessing their accounts due to the end of the partnership between Yahoo and AT&T. If you are a Tumblr, Flickr or regular user of any other Yahoo service and have an email address provided by AT&T, it will stop working for those sites on June 30th.

Like, this Friday, June 30th.

Tumblr addressed disabling email in a post on its help center:

Starting June 30, 2017, att.net customers will no longer be able to log into their Yahoo and Tumblr accounts using email addresses with the following domains: att.net, ameritech.net, bellsouth.net, flash.net, nvbell. .net, pacbell.net, prodigy.net, sbcglobal.net, snet.net, swbell.net and wans.net.

In short, if you want to use AT&T-friendly email to access Yahoo services like Flickr and Tumblr, you need to change your email address and create a Yahoo ID . This change may come as a surprise to AT&T users who have been able to use their email to access various Yahoo services despite a non-Yahoo email address.

AT&T provided even more information on the termination of the email service, including a list of affected sites and instructions on how to switch email addresses within services that support email changes. Flickr users will need to visit the transfer email page , and Tumblr users can change their email address on their settings page.

However, not all Yahoo services support email transmission and may require you to create a new Yahoo ID without retaining your past information. Better hurry.
