Don’t Eat Coconut Oil, Use It Instead

Rumor has it that coconut oil is unhealthy. It was once thought to be “fat burning fat” that you could include in your diet, now the advice is: “You can put it on your body, but don’t put it in your body.”

It turns out that research into what oil is good for you was a little flawed. He considered all the good things about “designer oil” that most of us don’t buy at Trader Joe’s.

If you have a bunch of coconut oil in your pantry, don’t throw it away. While you should at least limit the amount of oil you consume (like all fats, in fact), there are tons of great uses, some of which we’ve covered earlier, for an oil worth trying:

Hair conditioner

You may not want fat to flatten your belly, but fat can be good for your hair. Coconut oil is considered an excellent conditioner. Apply it to curls to smooth over overlapping layers of protein and repel water to keep your hair looking its best.

Heal feet

Take care of cracked heels: Apply some coconut oil to your feet at night, put on your socks, and let the oil soak into your dry heels overnight. You will wake up with much softer and more moisturized teeth.

Coconut manicure

Just like coconut oil can do wonders for your feet, it can also take care of dry hands. Rub dry cuticles a little to moisturize them and your hands.

Removing gum from hair

When I was in elementary school, I had very long hair and had a real problem with somehow getting my gum to get stuck in my hair. Back in the 80s, the removal method has always been to simply cut them off (good thing I had a ton of hair), but you can also use coconut oil to remove them. Just rub a little coconut oil over the affected area. The area around will become smooth and the chewing gum will slide out.

Makeup remover

Running out of makeup remover? Coconut oil can work wonders when it comes to removing long-lasting makeup. Dab some coconut oil on a cloth and then rub it over the area to remove any remaining oil, using only soap and water.
