You Can Get a Free Year of Cell Phone Service – but the Operator’s Sprint

I am indifferent to my cellular operator’s family plan. It’s okay, it works, I pay them, but okay.

But it takes more than just a discount on the next iPhone to get me to change my plan. I think Sprint is aware of this and is offering a pretty daring deal for Verizon customers looking for a way out. Free year of service with unlimited data.

The funny thing is, Sprint is generally not considered the best carrier. Its reach and speed are consistently inferior to Verizon and AT&T. He is constantly changing his proposal for plans, even returning two-year contracts at some point. But hey, free unlimited data.

To be honest, the best thing this year is a year of free service, simple and straightforward. You will have to pay the appropriate taxes and fees every month, but otherwise you are as free as a bird. Oh, you also need to bring your current phone with you, which is a little offensive. It paid off, right? Chill.

But an even bigger bummer is Sprint’s modernization plan. If you decide to buy a new phone anytime before October 1st, you will lose a year of free service and have to pay for an unlimited data, conversation and text message plan. You can upgrade your phone after October by buying a new one or signing up for a lease, but for now you need to bring your phone. If you would like to purchase an exclusive Essential Phone for Sprint, sorry. It won’t be out until “later this summer”.

Interestingly, the new Sprint deal does not mention any binding contracts beyond the one-year period. I spoke to Sprint support and they said that consumers can cancel their subscription at any time. Whether Sprint trusts you to stay after exploring the world through its network is unknown, but it’s a pretty interesting game on the part of the mobile operator. I think if you’re looking for a year of free phone service from Sprint, you have until June 30th to take advantage of this.
