You Can Now Watch YouTube TV on Apple TV Using AirPlay
When Google first launched its offline YouTube TV streaming service, there was only one way to get that content to your TV screen: with Google Chromecast. Now there is a second way: you can watch everything the service has to offer on Apple TV using AirPlay.
AirPlay support has been added in a recent update to the service’s iOS app , according to The Verge . This feature allows anyone with an Apple TV to watch YouTube TV on their TV. Prior to this update, those working primarily on Apple devices were able to access the service through the YouTube TV iOS app on iPad and iPhone.
It should be noted that YouTube TV does not yet feature its own Apple TV app – or any other streaming app, for that matter. This is a limitation for YouTube TV; other streaming TV services like Sling, DirecTV and Hulu have apps. But it’s a step in the right direction for a new streaming service that diversifies the hardware that can stream its content.
