How to Win the #MyOreoCreation Contest

Usually the new flavor of Oreo was the big news of the day, but not today, my friends. There is a new scent, but there is also the opportunity to see the new Oreo make your dreams come true and win “$ 500K and VIP Oreo access to upcoming releases and top secret prototypes.”

We’ll talk about the competition in a minute, but first we’ll talk about the new scent. It’s called “Fireworks,” and it has lollipops in it. You will love it if you love popping candy. You won’t like it if you don’t. Moving on.

In fact, it makes some sense that Oreo uses crowdsourced cookie ideas. The whole Swedish fish incident made it very clear that they needed new inspiration and this is where we all come from.

I have tried a lot of new Oreos products in due time, and I have a lot of thoughts and opinions about what distinguishes good from bad. While I wish I could keep all this Oreo wisdom to myself, my sense of duty prevents it from happening. So let’s go. Here are some tips for making cookies from an experienced Oreo journalist.

  • Think about others: this is not about you. It’s about winning. Choose something that will grab attention and appeal to most people. I would have liked an Oreo with juniper flavored cookies and Campari flavored cream, but only about 75 people would also enjoy the brave new world of these cookies.
  • Don’t get too attached to the season: you are aiming for widespread appeal. If Oreo is going to pay someone $ 500,000 for their idea, they will want to profit from the idea for as long as possible, so don’t drive yourself into the Christmas corner. Strive for something that grabs attention and is relevant all year round.
  • Be weird enough, look, the Swedish fish oreo was disgusting, but people bought it. They didn’t buy it again, but they bought it at least once simply because they “should have known.” Your task is to find a balance between “what the hell?” and “obviously delicious.”
  • Play with current food trends or nostalgia: I’ve heard that Lisa Frank-inspired food is now on sale, as are avocado toast. (I really don’t think Oreo avocado toast would be the worst flavor possible, since creamy avocado works well for sugary appliqués .) Think of food marketing trends that have worked well for you and your friends – aim for 90s. x years. – and go from there.
  • Don’t forget the cookies: Oreos’ best new products are those with special cream and special cookies. S’mores Oreo, Red Velvet Oreo, and Oreo Cinnamon Bun were all so good because they changed the flavor of the cookie to match the theme along with the filling. Do you know what would make an Oreo root beer awesome? Some more vanilla in the cookie to mimic the implied ice cream. Some stains like vanilla bean could also be useful in terms of appearance.
  • Experiment: You may not have a taste laboratory at home, but you do have a kitchen. Take some of the surviving Oreos and start spreading them over . Add some balsamic to the Chocolate Strawberry Oreo if you have one. Combine espresso powder or chili powder with chocolate cream. Open your pantry, spice cabinet, and refrigerator for inspiration and do a test test.

After you’ve finished your creation to perfection, submit it. From May 8th to July 14th, US fans can submit their idea via Instagram or Twitter using #MyOreoCreation and #Contest. Now go, my cookie geniuses, go ahead and make me proud of your delicious creations. Just remember me when you’re famous. That’s all I ask for.
