How to Keep Your Kitchen Clean When You’re Too Lazy to Clean
I’m one of those people whose stress level is directly related to how dirty my apartment is, especially my kitchen (because that’s where the most mess happens). But I’d rather have a drink and watch Parks & Rec than clean up. So, I decided to try the SOSD method and see if it strikes a balance between cleanliness and speed.
SOSD represents the different areas of your kitchen that you need to focus on for quick cleaning: surfaces, oven, sweeping (floors), and utensils. I liked its sound because the mess that worries me the most is crumbs on the floor, counters, and accumulation of dishes (so thanks for my dishwasher). However, I ignored the SOSD order as I prefer to put things on the counter first and then wipe the surfaces and sweep the floor rather than scrubbing and scrubbing the surfaces before moving on. But whatever suits you.
Once I rearranged my order and focused only on cleaning the counters, removing dishes from sight, and killing crumbs, it took me only fifteen minutes, so I had the rest of the night to unwind. Of course, my kitchen is not as clean as it might be using this method, but it is clean enough.
