Late Spring Is the Best Time to List Your Home for Sale
If you are considering selling your home, the iron will be hot enough to hit it pretty soon. Homes sold in late spring make more money and sell faster, according to a new Zillow real estate report.
The report found that homes listed for sale near the end of the regular home sales season or in late spring fetch an additional $ 1,500 on average on a sale. In addition, homes for sale from late April to mid-May are selling faster, much faster – about three weeks faster. And in some areas, such as Baltimore, Maryland, homes are selling even faster. Data scientists at Zillow note that this could be the start of a trend, as this is the second year in a row with similar results.
Why is late spring the best place? Inventories in the market are scarce and homebuyers are becoming discouraged. People can’t find their dream home at the perfect price, so they get impatient. The report also suggests that home sellers list their home at the end of the work week or early weekend, as this will get more attention.
