Prepare This Delicious Japanese Dish With Leftover Rice
Leftover rice seems like a pretty boring meal, but it doesn’t have to. There are tons of creative ways to dress it up , and next time you have a party, try turning it into ochazuka .
As Epicurious explains, ochazuke is a Japanese snack made from rice, green tea, and some side dishes like salmon, sesame seeds, or green onions. Heat the remaining rice until warm, pour in the tea and add the ingredients. Epicurious explains:
Instead of green tea, try vegetable broth, chicken broth, or dashi for a quick snack of chicken rice soup. Toss the remaining pickled or roasted vegetables; shredded grilled meats, poached fish and / or steamed Asian greens in rice. For a more sophisticated option, try scallops and salmon caviar.
It’s a simple and flexible dish that can be made from just about anything (I love hard-boiled eggs). For more details please follow the link below.
