Get Energized With This 7 Minute Yoga Routine

If the morning is not for you, or you are prone to the lull of the day, try this quick yoga program designed to boost your energy. You don’t need any equipment and you can do this exercise even if you have little room to move.

Since this exercise only lasts seven minutes, it consists of only a few poses. If you cannot watch them in the video above, you should do the following:

  • Shoulder Turns : Stand with feet shoulder- width apart with your toes at your sides. Lift your shoulders up and back to feel them begin to relax down and back.
  • Waves with your arms: Slowly lift your arms up in a circular motion, and then lower them down. Repeat several times, inhaling as you raise your arms up and exhaling as you lower them.
  • Head nodding : Move your head gently from side to side in a “no” motion, and up and down in a “yes” motion.
  • Forward Bend: Place your hands on your waist and slowly lean forward until you can let your arms dangle and touch the ground with your fingertips. Extend your toes and slowly swing your arms from side to side.

Aside from getting energy to start the day or recharging at work, you can also use this practice to avoid falling on the couch at the end of a long day. I tried this routine and felt energized enough to do a longer workout.
